One of Many Aunt-Niece Bonding Days

Today was another aunt-niece bonding day as Catherine worked all day (again) and Sarah is of course at the farm. Aunt Susie and I decided this morning that I need to start setting an alarm in the mornings so I'll get up earlier. We decided to go into Teton Park today to hang out by String Lake but first we weeded the flowerbeds in the front yard. Then we packed up tubes and snacks and took off for the park. First we went to Jackson Lake Lodge to eat lunch and I had a fantastic pulled pork sandwich while we enjoyed the wonderful view.
This is where we ate. You can see Jackson Lake in the background.
Then we drove over to Signal Mountain Lodge to get a giant cookie, which they make daily. It was pretty good. After that, we finally headed to String Lake where we braved the cold water and got in our tubes to float. Other than the wind constantly pushing us towards the shore, it was an ideal day and our float was quite nice.
#artsypic...not really...it makes my legs look huge...but hey, you get the picture
We got out of the water after about 30 minutes and hiked to Leigh Lake which is about a mile and a half from String. It was a nice hike but it got pretty dense so we had to be very cautious for bears (I saw two bear tracks *gasp*). We were fine though and didn't get attacked by any bears, however I do know what to do if that situation were to occur (now you can sleep at night mom).

We hit some legit traffic coming back into town but we finally made it home and now we're about to eat dinner. Tomorrow we're gonna watch fireworks at Snow King, a ski mountain right near Aunt Susie's house.

Later,
ET
